Exciting news!  My Blog Post “Be Passionnate About Your Product” has been accepted into the MasterClass Blog Carnival.  The organizer made a few small suggestions for changes but it was accepted more or less as it was submitted… So I have been accepted into my first Blog Carnival!  Exciting times ahead.  I think the Carnival is due to be launched around 1 May so stay tuned to this blog for details.

Be passionate about your product

Sadly I have seen it so many times.  People think there is money to be made on the internet so search for the hottest niche and attempt to create a product about it.  They end up trying to write about a subject they have no interest in and do not understand, purely because “that is where the money is”.  As a consequence they quickly become bored and discouraged and a month later they have either given up on the whole internet marketing idea completely and are cursing the day they connected their computer to the internet or else had seen another shiny opportunity packed full of false promises and are now chasing after that.

If someone has tricked you into thinking you can become rich overnight then you need to read my blog post The Dark Side Of Internet Marketing!  Online success is a long journey that requires perseverance and dedication.  When starting out you really do need to choose a niche that you are passionate about, one you enjoy researching and talking about, or else you are doomed to failure before you start.  You will encounter many distractions and problems along your pathway to success and you will often feel discouraged.  You really do need to start your journey to success by choosing a niche you are passionate about.

If you are passionate about the subject you are writing about it becomes a joy to create your product and you look forward to completing it and sharing it with the world.  You become proud of what you are creating and your passion shines through your words bringing your product to life when read by your customers.

In my particular case I recently had my blog hacked.  After the initial reactions of anger had subsided I became passionate about securing my blog and have decided to create a product about what I discovered in order to help other people protect their Blogs.  I am still creating my “Essential Blog Security” product but because it is a subject that I am genuinely interested in, and am passionate about, it is a joy to write it and I am looking forward to when I can offer it for sale to help others protect their blogs.

Create products you are passionate about and the creation process becomes a joy rather than a chore!

Blog Carnival Preparation

OMG!  What have I done?  I have committed myself to joining the John Thornhill MasterClass Blog Carnival and now the nerves have starting to click in.

This will be the first time I have participated in a Blog Carnival.

I need to write a Blog Post 200-400 words long on the subject of “Passionate, focused thinking” and submit a link to my post, together with a summary a few sentences long, to the organizers by 20th April (6 days away).

Will my Post be returned to me covered with so many red ink corrections it will be impossible to tell the color of the paper?  Will it have the cryptic comments “Pathetic effort. Could do better. Don’t bother submitting again” scribbled across the bottom?  Will my dream of one day becoming a pro-blogger be smashed before I have even begun?

Hmm… word count seems important… perhaps I had better find my abacus and dust off it’s beads as I don’t want to be rejected due to a technicality.

I wonder what the other participants will be like.  Some of them are quite experienced bloggers and will, I guess, be able to conjure up quite articulate and elegant Blog Posts.  Will my simple little blog posts look childish and amateurish in comparison?

Will the Blog Posts of the other participants be so technical that I won’t be able to think of any intelligent sounding comments to leave on their blogs?

I wonder if anyone will bother to visit my little blog and leave any comments or will I end up with just a couple of 2 word “nice blog” comments left by spammers?

Perhaps I am not ready to participate in a Blog Carnival yet.

But, hey, it sounds a fun way to interact with, and meet, other bloggers.

Perhaps I will give it a try after all.

OK.  I had better get down to writing my Blog Post.

Stay tuned to read about my progress…

Blog Carnivals

Wow; I have just heard about Blog Carnivals and my brain nearly exploded!  What an amazing idea!  It is the first time I had heard of Blog Carnivals so it shows what a sheltered life I lead!

I am currently a member of John Thornhill’s MasterClass and one of my fellow students Mandy Allen has just floated the idea of running a monthly Blog Carnival.  It sounds amazing fun and a great way to build friends and backlinks.  I have blogs on several servers scattered around the world and have often wondered about how I can use this diversity of IP Addresses to provide link juice to help others and this looks an ideal, and fun, way to achieve this.

For those, like myself, new to Blog Carnivals, it appears that they consist of an organised blogfest where participants each write a post on their blog on a pre-defined topic and submit their nominated post to the Carnival Organiser who checks the post meets the defined criteria and then, on the pre-defined date, publishes a list of posts allowing everyone to engage in a massive blogfest visiting, and commenting on, the posts of all the participants.  It sounds an absolutley fun way to build relationships, and share link juice, with fellow blogging adicts.

I am looking forward to participating in my first Blog Carnival around 1 May so stay tuned to this blog for a laugh at my pathetic attempt at trying to register as a participant, my attempt at writing a suitable Blog Post, and of course, more exact details of the Blog Carnival when it launches so you can unleash your blogging passion by visiting all the participants blogs!

Lets go for it!

Review of Blogging To The Bank 2010

Posted by Ian  Published in Blog Tutorials, Hardcore Blogging
Tweet

By now I think most people in the world know about blogs.

What most don’t know as there is a great income to be made as well for free.

Rob Benwell is only a mere 24 years old and has already made several million dollars. Early in 2006 he shared his secrets with the world in his highly successful Blogging To The Bank ebook and has made making money online a whole lot easier for everyone.

Just over two years after the success of his first book and over 20,000 copies sold of it and the 2007 2.0 update he is now releasing his third version of Blogging to the Bank helping to wet our appetites and keep the fat bucks rolling in.

I got this book as soon as I could and it covers quite a lot of new information and techniques to adapt your blog to the new demands of the major search engines. Many of the techniques in the old book are now dated and don’t work so well. This is why Blogging To The Bank 2010 is a godsend.

Also this guy doesn’t consider himself to be a “guru”, he’s just a normal guy who wants to help the little guys out. I find this a nice change as he doesn’t talk “down” to you like most of the other guys do. He explains everything in a nice simple manor so everyone can understand.

Saying that when he “goes off on one” it may take a few reads until you get it but when you do it’s just shear genius. Some of the topics in my opinion could have been covered a little more, then others went into great detail. You also get his 5 Blogging Commandments For 2010 that you must follow to give you blogs the greatest success in 2009 and keep them future proofed. This should be printed out and put on the wall of every online marketer without a doubt! His book starts off with market research (so that you are making the most of your time) to building your blogging empire. Everything is covered in this new outing that helps bloggers withtodays online issues regarding making the all mighty search engines happy.

Final Verdict: if you are out there in the blogging world and want to make money the easy way then I highly recommend Blogging To The Bank 2010.

Why work harder than you need to as the new techniques are there ready for you to simply implement.

A WordPress Blog Of My Own

Posted by Ian  Published in Blog Tutorials, Blogging For Beginners, My eBooks

Although I have received good feedback about my Blogging Made Simple eBook showing people how they can get their own free Blog I have started to receive requests from others wishing to learn how to set up their own WordPress Blog on their own webspace.

Using a free Blog is an excellent, low cost, introduction to Blogging which I would recommend to everyone starting out in the world of Blogging but it does have several limitations:

• You do not own the Blog so they can shut it down whenever, and for whatever, reason they like which could cause you major problems if you have had it running for a while and so made hundreds posts and built up good ranking in Google.

• The website URL addresses of free Blogs does not look very professional.  It gives a much better image of your business to call your Blog www.BlogOfMyOwn.com rather than http://awordpressblogofmyown.blogspot.com

• You dont have the freedom to install any of the large number of plugins available for WordPress on your Blog

I have therefore listened to your requests and have started creating my eBook “A WordPress Blog Of My Own” which I intend to offer free to all my Blog visitors as a way of thanking you for stopping by and to help you set up your own self-hosted Blog.  My illustrated, step by step, Guide will be packed with screenshots not only showing you how to get your own domain and install WordPress but also how to customise the appearence of your Blog and walk you through how to post messages on it and also how to leave comments on other people’s Blogs.  As I said I will be offering it free to all my Blog visitors so if you would like to be informed when I have completed it simply sign up to my newsletter using the signup box on the right hand side of this page.

How to make money with Twitter

Posted by Ian  Published in Twitter
Tweet

Dave Nicholson recently released a amazing product called ‘Tweet Dynamite’.

It is a high quality video series that shows you everything you need to do, starting from scratch to totally ‘Exploding’ your Twitter followers. Dave shows you how you can start making serious cash from your Twitter account.

However, personally, the best thing about it is the fact that he shows you how to do all of this on complete Autopilot, and apart from a tiny bit of ‘general maintenance’ there is nothing you need to do once this is set up! Also, there are NO additional costs involved for anything at all, that’s always nice to know! So, in my view, all you need is Tweet Dynamite and you are ready to ‘EXPLODE’ your business, quite literally!

In my opinion this is the best Twitter video series out there, bar NONE!

Dave has a special ‘launch price’ on there at the moment with a MASSIVE DISCOUNT, so I HIGHLY recommend you go take a look!
And if like me, you think this is awesome, grab it while it is still discounted.

You can get there from here: http://bit.ly/CDahc

Here are just some of the things you will learn in Tweet Dynamite:

# You will learn how to generate MASSIVE amounts of followers that will be targeted to your chosen niche, using fully legitemate methods.

# You will learn how to start generating SERIOUS amounts of cash from your twitter account, FOREVER, and on full AUTOPILOT!

# You will learn how to give Twitter users excellent, high quality content, that is fresh and upto the minute!

# You will learn how to FULLY AUTOMATE your content, so not only will you give users excellent, high quality content, but you won’t have to lift a finger once it is set up!

# You will learn how to TARGET your content on YOUR chosen niche, whatever it may be. This will give you targeted followers who are interested in what YOU have to offer!

# You will learn all the ‘basics’ that you need to know about Twitter, so even if you do not have a Twitter account yet, you will have no problem at all with Tweet Dynamite!

# You will learn how to maintain your Twitter account, so you will not have to worry about any problems that may arise in the future.

# You will learn how to customize your Twitter account with custom backgrounds etc. So you will look totally unique and appealing to anybody who sees you.

# You will learn how to do all of this and much, much more, with NO ADDITIONAL COSTS! There are absolutely NO additional costs involved for anything at all, once you have Tweet Dynamite!

Here’s the link to it again: http://bit.ly/CDahc

Go for it!

Where can I get a free blog?

Posted by Ian  Published in Blog Tutorials, Blogging For Beginners

Imagine the situation:  You have heard your friends talking about their blogs.  They are really enthusiastic about them. You have gone online and visited their blogs, like what you see, and think blogs are a really cool idea.  You think to yourself “I wish I had a blog of my own” then your mind goes numb as your technical friends start talking about Domains, Blog Hosting, creating a WordPress Blog and you think “I wish I could find a simple to use Blog which was easy to set up and use for free”.

If this is you and you are looking for an easy to follow beginners guide to setting up a free blog then I would recommend that you take a look at Blogging Made Simple.  Blogging Made Simple is a cheap, easy to follow, illustrated, step by step beginners guide showing how to set up your first blog without the need to purchase a domain or hosting.

Following the simple step by step instructions in this book should allow you to get your own blog up and running quickly.  It takes you through the steps of customising it’s appearance and personalizing it as well as showing you how to post messages onto your new blog and how to leave comments on other peoples blogs.

Why not get a blog of your own and make your dream come true?

Are you a computer addict?

Posted by Ian  Published in Blogging For Beginners, Hardcore Blogging

  1. Do you talk to your computer?
  2. Does your house contain more computers than humans?
  3. Can you remember the day you brought your first computer but forget your families birthdays?
  4. Does your Address Book contain details of all your family and friends neatly arranged in alphabetical order… of website address rather than by name?
  5. Do you spend more time sitting in front of your computer than you do in front of the TV?
  6. Is your favourite film “The Matrix”?
  7. Did your computer cost more than your car?
  8. Do you think “doing housework” means cleaning your computer screen?
  9. Do you start shaking and break out in a cold sweat if your internet connection goes down for more than 5 minutes?
  10. When you go on holiday is your laptop the first thing you put in your suitcase?

If you can sympathize with any of the above then welcome to my Blog!
